Beaver Creek’s Annual Cookie Competition kicks off the ski season with a sweet celebration of the resort’s world-famous chocolate chip cookies. On Opening Day, five talented finalists present their best recipes for guests to sample throughout the village. Visitors can taste, compare, and cast their votes for the most irresistible cookie, making this beloved event both delicious and interactive. The fun concludes with an awards ceremony at 5:00pm, honoring the baker behind Beaver Creek’s newest signature cookie creation.

Each participant will be provided with a luminous baton for a glowing adventure. After registration, skiers, alongside our ski school, will descend via the Haymeadow gondola for an awe-inspiring show. As part of this weekly affair, guests can revel in a dazzling fireworks display from the mountain's peak after the thrilling ski down.

Visible from Vail Village, Golden Peak, Lionshead, and even West Vail, this short but spectacular display creates a magical moment for guests to welcome the new year.

The Talons Challenge | BEAVER CREEK

The Talons Challenge at Beaver Creek is a test for expert skiers and riders: 14 of the resort’s most demanding black and double-black runs, combining for over 26,000 vertical feet in a single day. Participants can also compete across both weekend days for the “Master of the Mountain” title.
Check-in starts early morning, and included in the registration fee are lunch, swag, and an après experience in the village with live music and prizes. Find out if you have what it takes to conquer all of Beaver Creek's black and double black runs in one day.

Thompson and his quartet deliver the heartwarming gift this holiday season of A Guaraldi Holiday. Paying tribute to the timeless music of Vince Guaraldi, the American jazz pianist best known for composing the soundtrack for “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” The Juilliard graduate and now faculty member offers a nostalgic yet fresh take on these beloved songs. Thompson, a jazz musician and performer, has released multiple recordings as a leader and was named the winner of the American Pianists Awards in 2023.

Well known for his breakout role as the original “Aaron Burr” in the smash hit Broadway musical Hamilton, Odom, Jr. has received recognition with a Tony Award and Grammy Award, as well as multiple Emmy Award and Academy Award nominations. In 2017, his second album and first holiday release Simply Christmas hit No. 1 on iTunes and the Billboard Jazz charts.
